Today, at the premises of the Central Election Commission (CEC), the General Prosecutor, Mr. Olsian Çela, the Head of SPAK, Mr. Altin Dumani, and the State Election Commissioner, Mr. Ilirjan Celibashi, signed the Coordination and Cooperation Protocol between the General Prosecutor’s Office, the Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK), and the Central Election Commission.
This protocol aims to ensure the integrity of the electoral process for the 2025 Parliamentary elections in Albania and outlines coordinated measures for preventing, identifying, and prosecuting electoral crimes.
The protocol seeks to strengthen institutional cooperation to enable a fast and efficient exchange of information among the responsible authorities for prosecuting electoral offenses. In this context, the joint commitment of the signatory parties will facilitate the effective coordination of investigative actions, creating sustainable mechanisms for monitoring and legally addressing any case that threatens the electoral process.
Through this cooperation framework, the participating institutions commit to continuously working towards strengthening the electoral justice system, ensuring a fair electoral process free from external influences.
With the signing of this protocol, the goal is to increase transparency, reinforce public trust in the electoral process, and create an environment where electoral violations are effectively prevented and sanctioned. This cooperation will continue throughout the entire electoral period, with ongoing coordination among institutions to guarantee a free, fair, and honest process, in line with democratic principles and European Union standards.
