The Regulatory Commission reviewed today the draft regulation “On the organization and functioning of the Commission of Electoral Administration Zone”.

The scope of this regulation is to determine the rules on the way of organization and functioning of the CEAZ pursuant to the provisions of the Electoral Code.

The regulation consists of 32 articles, structured in 9 Chapters and contains provisions that elaborate in detail the rules on:

– composition of the CEAZ, determining the political parties eligible to propose CEAZ members and secretaries, deadlines and ways of conducting procedures for submitting proposals and appointment of members, secretaries, chair and deputy chair of the CEAZ,  discharge/release from duty and resignation of the CEAZ member / secretary;

– the duties of the CEAZ, the organization of the CEAZ Headquarters, the working hours and the identification documents of the CEAZ, the seal of the CEAZ and its use, the calling of the meeting, notification, conduct of the CEAZ meetings, and documenting them in the minutes;

– CEAZ decisions, the right and deadlines of appeals against CEAZ decisions, and the conflict of interest of CEAZ members during decision-making;

etc.

After reviewing it in principle and article by article, the Regulatory Commission decided to adopt the regulation.
