The Central Election Commission performed the operational test of electronic voting and counting devices, the pilot project which will be implemented only in EAZ no. 40, for the elections of April 25.

The testing was conducted in compliance with the provisions of the Electoral Code to identify the compliance of the criteria set by the CEC in relation to what the device offers.

Electronic Voting and Counting Device which will be used only in Unit no. 10 in Tirana, allows voting in a simple and safe way for citizens. The electronic ballot is accompanied by a printed ballot paper, which is verified by the voter himself before it falls into the ballot box. The software of the device offers high security standards and the voting interface is similar to the printed ballot paper. In this way the voter will have easy interaction with the device.

For the elections of April 25, 2021, the CEC will install 2 electronic voting devices for each voting center, so that the voting process is fast and no queues are created in the voting centers. The counting will be performed in the premises of EAZ 40 and will be electronic counting.

The Central Election Commission has taken all measures to facilitate electronic voting for all voters of the administrative unit no. 10, distributing brochures with instructions for electronic voting, distributing educational videos simulating electronic voting on social networks, and will equip all 5 voting centers with an electronic voting device, which will be used to train any voter who wants to test electronic voting before entering the polling station.
