Commissioner’s sanctions against political parties upheld by CSC

The Complaints and Sanctions Commission considered the complaints no. 5, dated 08.05.2024, submitted by the Socialist Party of Albania, No. 6, dated 22.05.2024, submitted by the Albanian Future Party, and No. 7, dated 29.05.2024, submitted by the Democratic Conviction Party, regarding “Objection to the Decision No. 38, dated 09.04.2024, of the State Election Commissioner “For the approval of the report on the results of the audit of the financial reports of political parties for income and expenses for the calendar year 2022“.

At the end of the examination, the CSC decided to partially accept the complaint no. 5, leaving in force the sanction imposed by the decision no. 38/2024 of the SEC, and to reject the complaint no. 6 of the Albanian Future Party and no. 7 of the Democratic Conviction Party and the enforcement of SEC Decision no. 38/2024 for these subjects.

The CSC also examined the request no. 1 of the State Election Commissioner for the imposition of administrative sanctions on the members of the counting groups, pursuant to the decision no. 48 of 16.05.2024 “For the approval of the report on the main findings of the post-election verification process of the ballot papers, election material and electronic voting and counting machines (EVMs) used in the elections to the local government bodies on 14.05.2024 and in the elections to the Mayor of the Municipality of Kukes on 24.09.2023”.

CSC, considering the complexity of the cases under consideration, will announce the decision at the meeting on 28.06.2024 at 11:00.
