The State Election Commissioner, Mr Ilirjan Celibashi met with representatives of the International Institute for Democracy and Election Assistance (IDEA), Mrs. Tuija Brax and Mrs. Blerta Hoxha.

The scope of the meeting was potential assistance by IDEA International for the CEC, in the field of digitalization/IT and transparency of funding reported by political parties by introducing a new online system to report funding.

During the meeting, special focus was placed on identification of expenses for on line campaigns incurred directly by electoral parties, third parties and on external influence in the election processes.

The representatives of IDEA expressed their highest considerations for the CEC work, not only for the election process, but for undertaking the initiative for digitalization of all processes.

IDEA International offered its assistance in implementing this process, In addition, support will be provided for the immigrant voting, both in terms of expertise but also best practice sharing.

Both parties agreed that within December, IDEA will finalize a research on all the voting methods, including out- of- the- country voting, the results of which will be introduced in the event to be hosted for this purpose.
