Ilirjan Celibashi: “Today is the start of election campaign for local by-elections for the mayor of Shkodra, Dibra, Vora, Durres, Rrogozhina, Lushnja. Registered electoral subjects and their candidates have the obligation to stage a campaign in compliance with the Electoral Code, and other legal acts, which provide for and guarantee free, fair and honest elections. On this occasion, I appeal to the political parties and candidates participating in this race, to conduct this election campaign in a peaceful manner and in accordance with all provisions of the Electoral Code. The conduct of an electoral race in compliance with the principles of a free, fair and honest race is directly linked to the standard of this electoral process.
I would like to to take this opportunity to invite the voters/ electorate, the citizens of 6 local government units to participate massively in this process. I invite them to check the validity of their identification documents after checking first if their name is in the voters list. Lack of a valid ID would not enable them to exercise their right to vote on March 6, 2022.
Even though the term of office of the Mayors who will be elected in these elections will be less than a year, it is worth exercising your right to vote”.
