The State Election Commissioner, Mr. lirijan Celibashi held a virtual meeting (online) with representatives of the the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe, reporters Stewart DICKSON from UK, Mrs. Gunn-Marit HELGESEN from Norway, Mr. Vladimir PREBILIC from Slovenia, Mrs. Randi MONDORF from Denmark and expert Dr. Pavel PSEJA, Member of the Independent Group of Experts of the Congress.
The scope of the meeting was to brief the reporters about the preparations for local by elections of March 6,2022.
Commissioner Celibashi welcomed the involvement of the Local and Regional Authorities Congress of the Council of Europe in monitoring of local by elections in 6 municipalities of the country and briefed the reporters about the progress of the election process.
During the meeting, several issues of interest to were addressed, such as transparency and the control of political parties’ funds, electronic counting and voting in Vora Municipality, out of the country voting, second and third tier election administration and upcoming election reform.
