Celibashi expressed his appreciation for Minister Ellis for the brilliant political and financial support provided to the Central Election Commission by Ambassador Alastair King-Smith and the British Embassy in Albania. They discussed about opportunities to expand projects with support from the British Government. Minister Ellis praised the significant progress and the role of the CEC in meeting the electoral challenges.

The Minister of State Michael Ellis held an extended meeting in the CEC Offices, with representatives of civil society organizations that implement projects with the support of the British Government. He stated that the UK would continue to support initiatives related to the auditing of political party finances, prevention of the use of public resources in election campaigns, non- interference by foreign state actors, guaranteeing the integrity of elections and a fair judicial system. Commissioner Celibashi and Minister Ellis agreed that a lot has been done, but there is still a lot to be done to increase turnout in the elections, the inclusion of marginalized groups in Albanian society and increase the number of young voters.
