In Pristina, the joint three-day activity between the Central Election Commission of Albania and the Central Election Commission of Kosovo has begun, focused on exchanging electoral practices and addressing the challenges faced in upcoming electoral processes.
The chairman of Kosovo’s CEC, Mr. Kreshnik Radoniqi, emphasized the good cooperation between the two institutions and the sustainable approach to continuously sharing experiences. Cooperation between the two CECs has often been followed by concrete assistance and logistical support. Mr. Radoniqi highlighted the loaning of cameras for the needs of the Counting and Results Center during the 2021 local elections and the voting process on April 21, 2024.
Commissioner Celibashi emphasized that the cooperation between the two institutions has strengthened and has delivered tangible results for both parties. The two CECs have both similar and different experiences in electoral processes, and exchanging these experiences will help identify challenges and take measures for the better organization of electoral processes. He also brought attention to Kosovo’s experience with voting from abroad, which will serve the Albanian CEC in preparing the process for Albanian citizens to vote from abroad in 2025.
The purpose of this joint activity is to strengthen cooperation between the two institutions and share the experiences gained so far on voter information and education, electronic voter identification, digital reporting of political party finances, and voting from abroad.
