Today, on January 3, 2025, a meeting was held at the Central Election Commission (CEC) premises with representatives of Civil Society to conduct the operational and technical testing of the Electronic Registration Platform (ERP) for out-of-country voting by Albanian citizens living outside the territory of the Republic of Albania, for the elections scheduled for May 11, 2025.
As part of ensuring transparency, the CEC administration tested the main functionalities of the Electronic Registration Platform (ERP), covering three main areas:
- Voter’s Space: This section is dedicated to individuals who create their personal accounts on the platform and fulfill the requirements to register on the voter list.
- Request Review Module: In this module, the CEC reviews and processes requests submitted by voters, ensuring the fair and transparent handling of each application.
- Real-Time Statistical Panel: This panel provides real-time updated statistical data on requests and their processing. It is accessible to political parties and organizations, ensuring a clear and comprehensive view of the process.
During the demonstration, various scenarios of registration for Albanian citizens living abroad were tested, including:
- Successful registration processes where voters submit complete information and their requests are approved.
- Cases where the request for inclusion in the voter list is rejected.
- Situations where the voter creating an account is under the age of 18.
Civil society representatives had the opportunity not only to test the platform’s functionalities but also to address questions and provide feedback to contribute to its improvement.
