The State Election Commissioner, Mr. Ilirjan Celibashi and the Deputy Commissioner, Mrs. Lealba Pelinku elected by the Albanian Parliament, officially took office today.     They were received by the former chairman of the CEC, Mr. Klement Zguri. The introduction of Mr. Celibashi and Mrs. Pelinku was made by the Secretary General of the Parliament, Mr. Genci Gjonçaj.

Mr. Celibashi stated that his activity as State Election Commissioner and the CEC activity will be characterized by some fundamental principles such as: integrity, impartiality, transparency and legitimacy.

“The main challenge for us is the issue of information technology. “We will do our best to implement this process, but in the meantime, other issues of election organisation and administration are also important,” he stated.

Whereas Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Pelinku stated that thanks to the maximum commitment and constructive cooperation, the CEC will successfully overcome the challenges it will face in this election process.
