The State Elections Commissioner adopted in today’s session the draft Instruction on defining the procedures for post election verification of ballot papers and election materials. The process of post election verification consists in opening of election material boxes and ballot boxes and monitoring and evaluation of the functionality of the IT devices used in April 25, 2021 elections. The process aims to verify the regularity and accuracy of the activity of election administration during the process of administration and evaluation of ballots.
The Commissioner also reviewed the results of the verification by General Prosecutor’s Office of the self declaration of Mr. Ervis Harun Beu, candidate for MP proposed by the Coalition of Popular Union Alliance -Emigration-Hour of Albania and the Conservatives (ABEOK), Durres Region and the self -declaration of Mr. Ido Muharrem Pashaj, candidate for MP proposed by the Coalition of Popular Union Alliance -Emigration-Hour of Albania and the Conservatives (ABEOK), Fieri Region, pursuant to the law no. 138/2015 “On guaranteeing of the integrity of individuals who are elected, appointed or who exercise public functions”.
The Commissioner decided to declare the administrative procedure as closed, with no final decision for Mr. Pashaj and Beu, candidate for MP in April 25, 2021 elections as it is deemed that there is no valid grounds for in-depth verification.
The Commissioner decided to postpone the session and continue the administrative investigation for the report filed by Civic Resistance Organisation on alleged violations of the Electoral Code Provisions and Decision no.09, dated 24.12.2020 of the Regulatory Commission, for organizing the election campaign in the premises of “Misto Treska” library in Tirana.
