The Central Election Commission in cooperation with the British government and the British Ambassador to Albania, launched the project on the information, awareness and education of Roma community for local government elections.

The project started with the training of a group of representatives of Roma community on the election process of May 14, 2023.  

The voting procedure was explained, especially the voting with two ballots, one for the mayor and one for the municipal council. A special attention was paid to correct marking of the ballot and the steps to be followed in the voting center, on the voting day. A special training session was delivered on election related penal offences. 

The CEC and the trainers of the organization of Roma community will continue the implementation of the election program in the municipalities where this community is living, with the motto: ” For the Roma, with the Roma”.
