The Central Election Commission in cooperation with the Council of Europe and EU – Action Against Economic Crime in Albania organized a two day training of the use and function of CEC online platform for monitoring of political parties, funding and misuse of state resources.
This platform is developed to strengthen supervisory capacities of the CEC and enhance transparency and accountability of political parties.
On February 23 and 24, 110 monitors appointed by the CEC and 10 finance officers of political parties were trained , with the aim of enhancing their knowledge on the use and functioning of online platform.
During these days, the participants had the opportunity to learn about on line platform, the modules and main functions and received technical information for the efficient functioning of the platform.
The training served to enhance the knowledge of participants regarding their legal responsibilities and monitoring techniques regarding the funding of political parties and misuse of state resources during the election campaign for local government elections of May 14,2023.
Two experts of the Council of Europe were involved in tailoring the training based on the specific needs of main users of the platform.
The strengthening of the capacities of CEC and the actors involved in the process, is supported by the joint EU- CoE program “Horizontal Facility for Western Balkans and Turkey” with the aim of providing assistance to the beneficiaries to abide by the standards of EU and CoE in the framework of integration process.
