The Regulatory Commission adopted several amendments to Decision no.2, dated 31.01.2023, of the Regularly Commission ” On approval of some technical specifications of the ballot papers for local government elections of May 14,2023 elections”.

In the Decision no.2/2023, the Regulatory Commission has approved several technical specifications of the ballot papers, including the color of ballot papers, based on the experience in previous elections of 2015 and 2019.

After consulting the specimens of ballot papers with various groups of voters, during the phase of implementation of education programs, it was found that the colors had a strong nuance and created difficulties in identification of content of the ballot papers. The names of candidates and electoral subjects should be clearly visible and easily read by all voters, regardless of their age. The clear identification of the names of candidates and electoral subjects that run in elections has priority in the voting process.

Under these conditions, the Regulatory Commission changed the color codes for both ballots: the ballot paper for the candidates for Mayor will have a gold color and the ballot paper for the candidates for members of municipal council will be grey.
