State Commissioner of Elections Mr. Ilirjan Celibashi met representatives of civil society and international organizations regarding the progress of the electoral process on May 14, 2023. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the issues and perspectives of civil society regarding local elections.

Commissioner Celibashi emphasized that recommendations from civil society play an important role in monitoring the electoral process and reporting electoral rule violations. They help improve the electoral process and strengthen citizens’ trust in the electoral system.

Representatives of civil society appreciated the work done by the Central Elections Commission in terms of voter education and increasing efforts to raise awareness, especially among young and first-time voters, to participate in elections.
