Auditing of election campaign funds of March 6, 2022 elections – CSC imposes 5  administrative sanctions

The Commission of Sanctions and Complaints announced today the decision on Request no. 1 of the State Elections Commissioner on imposing administrative sanctions, based on Decision no. 824, dated 7.12.2023 “On approval of the findings report from the audit of funds received and spent by the political parties running in March 6, 2022 local by- elections”.

 CSC partially sustained the request no. 01, dated 08.01.2024, filed by the State Election Commissioner and imposed the following administrative sanction:

1. A fine in the amount of ALL 100,000 against the staff responsible for finances in the Socialist Party of Albania, based on point 1 of article 173 of the Electoral Code;

2. A fine in the amount of ALL 100,000 against the staff responsible for finances in the Democratic Party of Albania, based on point 1 of article 173 of the Electoral Code;

3. A Fine in the amount of ALL 750,000 against Democratic Party of Albania, based on point 3 of Article 173 of the Electoral Code;

4. Fine in the amount of ALL 92,775 against Ms. Emirjana Sako, candidate for mayor of the “Socialist Party of Albania”, and the transfer of funds benefited to the CEC, based on point 5 of article 173 of the Electoral Code;

5. Fine in the amount of ALL 120,590 to Mr. Edison Memolla, candidate for mayor of the “Socialist Party of Albania”, and the transfer of funds benefited to the CEC, based on point 5 of article 173 of the Electoral Code;

6. Fine in the amount of ALL 91,420 to Mr. Bardh Spahia, candidate for mayor of the “House of Freedom” coalition, and the transfer of funds benefited to the CEC, based on point 5 of article 173 of the Electoral Code.
