Ranking of subjects in the ballot – Regulatory approves the procedure of drawing the lots

10/02/2022 | News

The Regulatory Commission approved the procedure of drawing the lots to determine the order in which electoral subjects appear on the ballot paper, for local by elections to be held on March 6, 2022.

In local by-elections, the lot to determine the ranking of electoral subjects in the ballot, will be cast for each election zone (municipality). The ranking of subjects on the ballot paper will be determined through two processes, a preliminary lot and the lot.

The preliminary lot is intended for the line of the subjects to draw the number that a subject will hold in the ballot, while the lot determines the number that a subject will have on the ballot.

If, at the end of the lot, electoral subjects, which have similarities in the official name, emblem, (or logo) or initials, are ranked one after another, – which might cause confusion to the voters, the electoral subjects might request the lot to be recast.
