The State Election Commissioner Ilirjan Celibashi met today at the CEC premises, the Ambassador of Switzerland in Albania, Mr. Adrian Maitre, who was accompanied by Ms. Chantal Nicod, Head of the Office of Governance and Ms. Erisa Lame, Political Affairs and Democratization Program Officer.

Commissioner Celibashi informed  Ambassador Maitre on the successful administration of the local by-elections of March 6, 2022 in 6 municipalities of Albania, the process of distributing the mandates of the mayor of these municipalities, the progress of the processes of biometric identification PEI and electronic voting and counting PEVN during these elections.

Ambassador Maitre assessed the organization and good administration of this election process, as well as was interested in the declaration of the final results by the CEC.

Also, Commissioner Celibashi and Ambassador Maitre discussed various issues of cooperation between the CEC and the Swiss Government.
