The Central Election Commission has decided to establish the Commissions of Election Administration Zones for local government elections to be held on May 14,2023.
The establishment of the CEAZs is a crucial stage of the election administration process, as they are charged with important tasks according to the Electoral Code.
In out of the 61 municipalities where the elections will be held, 50 of them will administer important processes such as the registration of the candidates for Mayors and municipality councils, accreditation of electoral subjects’ observers, announcement of the winning candidate for Mayor and other processes.
The CEAZs will hold their first meetings starting from February 13,2023.
Based on the Decision no.5, dated 20.11.2020 of the Regulatory Commission, the working hours of the CEAZs will be from 09:00 to 13:00 and from 16:00 to 20:00.
