With less than two months left to local government elections of May 14, the Head of OSCE Presence, Ambassador Guido De Sanctis, hosted a meeting with the Ambassadors of participating states of OSCE and international organizations in Albania to share information and coordinate assistance and the stands on elections.
The State Election Commissioner, invited in the meeting, briefed the participants on the preparations of the Central Elections Commissions and responded to their questions. The Commissioner thanked OSCE and other international partners for their constant support to the CEC.
Ambassador De Sanctis spoke about the findings of OSCE/ODIHR Needs Assessments Mission for May 14, 2023 elections and recalled recommendations of previous reports that remain to be addressed.
Considering CEC as one of the most trusted, closest, and long term partners, he assured that the support for the institution will continue.
Today’s event was a special meeting of the International Working Group on Elections, established with the OSCE initiative, which meets regularly to exchange information and coordinate stands.
