The Central Election Commission held the one-day seminar “Assessment of the Gender Dimension of Electoral Administration Activities in Albania” in cooperation with the OSCE Presence in Tirana and the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) within of the project for the support of the Western Balkans.
OSCE/ODIHR experts Ms. Małgorzata Druciarek, Mrs. Aleksandra Nizynska and Ms. Fiorela Shalsi presented the report with findings and recommendations on gender dimensions in the electoral administration.
The aim of the activity was to draw up a shared journey specifying the actions, responsibilities and resources needed to address the evaluation findings and recommendations, including updates from 2023, key developments and lessons learned from the local authority elections on 14 May 2023.
The CEC administration and ODIHR experts exchanged ideas on the main challenges and areas where further steps should be taken to improve and promote the growth of gender representation in the electoral administration.
The best practices related to gender integration in electoral processes and public administration were also presented in the activity.
