The State Election Commissioner has approved the accreditation procedures through the electronic platform for observers from Albanian and foreign NGOs, international organisations, representatives of foreign countries and the media for the by-elections for the Mayor of Himar Municipality.

The Observer Portal is an interactive system for the registration and management of non-partisan election observers and aims to make the process much faster and more effective.

In order to apply for observer accreditation, you must first register as an organisation. If the requesting organisation/institution meets the requirements to be an observer, it will be given the opportunity to access the Observer Portal using the login details sent to the email address provided in the application.

The SEC also approved the Voter Education, Information and Awareness Programme for the by-elections for the Mayor of Himarë on 4 August 2024.

The programme for voter information on the by-elections in the Municipality of Himara is divided into 6 parts and includes all voters, informing them on various aspects of the electoral process, on the voters’ list, on electronic identification procedures, on how to vote, on criminal offences affecting the elections, on sensitising women, on young voters for the first time, as well as information on the correct completion of the ballot.
